Me and my buddy called ourselves jumping the solenoid by putting a jumper across the large terminals, but that may not have been the right way.

There are a great number of things that can keep the solenoid from working, it's not always a bad solenoid. The solenoid activation circuit may not be getting power for several reasons.

Mr golf is right, I'm just merely expressing on how common it is to have a bad solenoid on the DS. Keep checking everything carefully I'm sure you will figure it out

Father in law piddled with this afternoon, but I haven't talked to him yet (I just got home).
He had it jacked up and I turned one of the wheels. The wheels turned opposite directions and I heard a slight squeal. Does this mean the motor is locked up?

Found a 'mysterious wire' that wasn't connected (go figure) to solenoid while tracing back from reverse buzzer. Connected it to solenoid.
Replaced heatsink and relay on charger and charger is working.
Did the 'test 2' that Crash test Dummy posted and solenoid is not bad.
Now getting a click every time I press pedal.
Wheels spin when rear is jacked up and motor runs. When on the ground, the cart tries to move, but won't. I can push cart around easily, so I'd think that would rule out stuck brakes? 50.5 volts on pack, so juice not a problem.
Motor frozen, maybe? Differential?

hey,

no, not differential, you would know if it was the differential, and hear it! lol
but im not sure, if your batteries are truly good then it has to be some other component
