I decided to spend some time on the DS Kit car today, and finish making the 2 gauge battery cables.

The battery configuration is due to updating a 4X12 battery pack to a 6X8 pack in the 2008 DS chassis.

Attached is a photo of the completed project. I don't know if crossing cables as I have done is a bad thing. But I was to shorten 4 or 5 different cable in the process.

Next steps on this project is going to have to be a body and upholstery.

The straight cables would make me nervous. If there was any movement or vibration among the batteries, the straight cable would act more like a stick than a rope. Over time I believe the contact between a battery stud and it's lead would loosen resulting in a hot spot. I may be wrong but you won't see straight wires or cable anywhere on my cart.

Tag50,
Good point.

I may have to redo that one, but it looks so neat and tidy, LOL.

Thank you,

Wow I guess it is time for an update here. I have been working on the Caroche Runabout, and this one had taken the back seat so to speak.

I actually finished this DS Kit Car, and sold it three weeks ago.
Here are some photo's of the final assembly results.

I bought the new seat skins and recovered the front seat to match the back seat I bought with the Double Take Spartan body.

The new owner's wife is a Gamecock fan, so my body color was a hit.

Thanks for looking,
