Clanking/grinding noise while under power on '88 DS

Hey all, first post. I've got a 1988 DS Electric Club Car that I adopted from a buddy. While under power the cart is making a noise from the rear end. If I take my foot off the pedal, I don't hear the noise (coasting). The differential was dry when I got it, and have flushed it with SAE 30W oil 3 times now (no shrapnel/parts came out, but the oil did come out rusty.

From the digging I've done, it sounds like it might be a bearing. Any ideas?

Mine does the same thing but it's an 84 sounds like a scrubbing nose

I just picked up a '99 and have a similar scrubbing noise under power. I'm throwing on a new Jeep body soon and gonna drain/refill the diff then, anyone find a solution yet?

I thought this was typical of the pre 2000 CC's.
