Question King Pins and Bushings

Has anyone ever installed king pins and the bushings on a Yamaha Cart ? Mine is a G2 but I think they are all pretty much the same. I am just wondering what is involved and how big of a job it can be ? I am experiencing some bowing outward on the front wheels and I had a guy look at it yesterday and he seems to believe that the king pin bushings are worn out. So, I am looking to likely replace mine.

Don't have a Yamaha but on my Club Car DS here is the scoop.
It's a little work and will require a machine shop to ream the new bushings to size.
I removed the spindles and used rust blaster to soak them up from inside.
I used a large flat blade and large hammer from the reverse side and knocked them out.
I was holding the spindle in a vise to do this.
I cleaned up the inside and used some medium rough grit wet/dry metal sand paper to clean up the bore.

Now is the time to take the spindles, bushing and new king pins to the shop.
They will press the bushings in the bore.
Do not hammer them in yourself, it will mush the bushing ends and cause distortion.
They will ream the new bushings to fit the new pins.
Very close tolerance with this. Slides smooth with zero side to side play.
Reassemble and grease up. Set alignment.
Cost me $50.

Might as well replace other rubber bushings at the same time.
No big deal on these.

I'm unsure if the G2 is the same but I did my G1 and they were pretty easy. No reaming required. Knock out old pins with hammer and punch. knock out bushings with said hammer and punch. reassemble. make sure your grease fitting are taking grease while you have it apart.

If tires are leaning in the majority of the time its the front shocks.

Cant hurt to go in and lube the king pins, needs to be done on a regular basis anyway.

Punch out the pin as stated and pull them out. Grease them up by hand and put them back together.

Some have a pin inside the pin so you have to punch the little one out first. Check your wheel bearings also while you do that.

Yes the shocks get tired and sag.

I seen that earlier today on my g9. Roll pin inside a bigger one. I was wondering how it was held together.

just knocked mine out yesterday, there is a roll pin inside the roll pin, they both came out together, didn't have a small enough roll pin punch..

The shocks are new all the way around. I will snap a picture later today and post it of what the tires look like.

That's kind of how it should look so when there is weight on it the cart will level out, when you bounce on it does it settle down a little? might need a little break-in time to settle a little also...
