Default Will Curtis 1266R-5351 Work On Precedent

Got a 2010 Precedent IQ with dead controller.
I have access to 1266R-5351 controller. I see it has the same 16 pin connector.
Could I build a wire harness adapter to fit the Precedent?

I think it will be a lot of work even if you have a Curtis programmer.

As you already notice, most of the pins would need to be re-arranged in the 16-pin connector.

The 1266 is also similar to the Excel system where it requires 453Ω resistor in the throttle circuit.

It also does not use the same AUX power input pin (pin #9) for the walk-away brake, instead on the 1266R you need to wire a separate relay to provide B+ during walk-away operation (if programmed to do so).

If You are looking for a challenging project, go for it.

Thanks but no thanks. I have enough challenges as it is.
Would the 1268-5403 be practical to use? I have access to those as well.

You would need to convert the 16-pin to 24-pin and add an external; walk-away relay as well.

Here is some info on the kit that FSIP sells:

Sergio - can you elaborate on how this resistor. I have a bunch of 1266As that I purchased to replace 1510s and they won't work. Now I cant return them and want to figure out a work around to get them working. I have the conversion cables but the controller wont activate the selenoid.

Did you build the conversion cables, or buy them? I believe Sergio is referring to a 453 ohm resistor that must be added in series to each MCOR wire.

You'll get to a resolution quicker if you rent or borrow a 1313 diagnostic handset.
