Default conversion 36v to 48v

Hi there I have a 99 ezgo that is 36v. I also upgraded my motor and controller already. My motor is 36v or 48v so I'm thinking all I need to do is add two more batteries. On the motor I have wires hanging off the end of it are those for a 48v system, if so where would they go. Motor is a shunt wound torque motor and the controller is a 600 amp alltrax

Your controller and motor are 48v compatible.
However I suggest 42v a happier medium for this cart.
For either voltage you will need a 48v solenoid and a 48v charger.
The wires on the motor tailend are from the speed sensor. The DCX control does not use these wires on any amount of voltage. I hope this helps

No Jeff, that's not what those are for.....HOWEVER, currently, are those wires hooked up to ANYTHING?

if the answer is NO, I'm going to bet your cart is a DCS. Can you verify that?

EDIT......Ya beat me to it Scotty!! LOL

Yes I believe it is a DCS and what wires the ones off the motor no they are not. Just ordered a 48v solenoid now what do I do about a charger. Can I use the same plug on a 48v charger.

The DCS doesn't use those wires, just tie them out of the way, I personally would insolate them.

The charger...PIECE OF CAKE.....since you need to buy a new 48v charger, buy one from cartsunlimited.net not only are they a site sponsor, you will get the best price around, AND when ordering it there you designate which plug you want on it and that's what you get on it....its part of the price.
