Default Wiring problem. Radio turns off when pushing the f/r switch

Default lights and radio flicker/ turn off when switching the PDS switch
I have a 2000 ezgo TXT and the lights and radio are turning off when I switch the PDS switch from forward to reverse. The street legal light kit was wired into the key switch and came with a 36v to 12v (10amp) voltage reducer which I wired in. The light harness had an extra available hot which I wired to the radio (Kenwood marine unit) and I also wired 2 kicker LED light speakers to the same harness. Does the voltage reducer have enough amps? Is the amperage to small and that's what's causing the flicker when the switch is moved? Do I have something wired to the wrong post on the key switch? I tapped into the 36v wiring coming out of the key switch, which seemed to be what the light instructions said.

Any help or recommendations?????????

I am leaning to your radio first.....Many have a wire that that gets tied to an amplifier....Call it a signal wire for the amp to turn on and off.....Is it capped off?...or hooked to a 12 volt source that is telling it to shut off?.....I would give it 12 volts right to it, so switch nothing, see if that voltage drop sends an off signal?...Simplify the circuit will help single out the problem.

On my buddies cart (a series EZGO cart) and maybe others the voltage to the key switch drops to zero when the F-N-R switch is in the middle between F and R. So if your reducer is getting the trigger signal from the key being on, then that's why it's switching off.

I put a seperate switch on my TXT48 instead of wiring from the key.
For me it's a safety issue, I often have the radio playing but don't want to leave the keys in it and turned on.
