You may want to buy a 1/4-20 tap while you are at it and clean up those holes

I got it installed with your advice.

Thanks everyone. What are your opinions on running this D&D 170-012-0002 motor on the old-fashioned Yamaha G8 metal controller? D & D says it's ok, but I hear high pitched sounds when I step on the pedal, and after about ten minutes of riding, the cart quit. After about a minute, the cart ran again, but only for a minute.

F & R switch is fine, battery cables are good, solenoid is ok, and all wiring checks out. Does this controller have a thermal overheat sensor? Is it shutting off because this motor is too much for it?

Thanks,
Luke

Could be or your LVC low voltage cutout by your battery pack load not high enough
check your motor and controller temps next time this happens. heat is usually from low voltage dips and loads rise when that happens
not sure about the noise..

Original Yamaha 300 amp metal controller. I’m letting the pack charge overnight. The batteries are new and I don’t know how full they are.

Thanks,
Luke

Stock Controller is probably mad. If it starts right up later, it's probably not a F&r issue. Angry "high frequency noises" is the best clue. That controller is a good one, but everything has it's limits.

Ok, so this morning, it worked for ten minutes, and then stopped again. A minute later, it drove for 30 seconds, and so on. The controller still makes high pitched noises and the cart has NO TORQUE at all. I can barely get it up the ramp into my carport.

Still sound like a controller? The batteries have a full charge and theres no bad smell and nothing feels hot at all. Even the controller is barely warm.

Thanks,
Luke

I just had kinda the same issues with the controller i just took out of my G16 and replaced with an alltrax SR48500.

By the sounds of it your going to be in the market for a new alltrax as well or of course rebuild your existing one.
