EZGO MPT1000 Erratic Deceleration
Our 2010 EZGO 48V MPT1000 accelerates and runs fine in forward or reverse. But deceleration is very erratic. Sometimes when decelerating, the controller slows the buggy by “compression braking” as it use to. But recently, the MPT1000 often free wheels and then lurches when the speed drops to near zero while using the foot brake with the accelerator off.
The ITS induction voltages are 1v just as the micro switch clicks and roughly 3.7v at full “throttle” per specs on page F-32 of the repair manual. BUT…The voltage on the ITS unit white wire is .87V even when the main switch is off and the direction switch is set to neutral. It only goes to zero when switched to Maintenance. Should the ITS have any voltage before the micro switch clicks? I’ve already replaced the switch, solenoid and speed sensor, with no change :( The controller is probably the original, a Curtis PMS 1264 48V 400amp with no codes blinking. Should I replace the controller with a Curtis 1268? Thanks in Advance — Be Serious |
