2008 TXT losing power
2008 Series cart was recently upgraded to 48V and did alltrax 500, reversing contactor, solenoid, cables, etc.
Everything has been working great for a few weeks now, but over the past couple days it is losing power occasionally. So I can tell that when this happens, the pedal isnt activating the solenoid. if i try the pedal 3-4 times then the cart seems to respond does this sound like a bad pedal switch or do I need to look elswhere? |

Re: 2008 TXT losing power
You said recently upgraded, so I'll guess you have a SR48500 controller.
Does it lose power while driving with your foot pressing the pedal, or when you lift your foot and then push again on the pedal while cart is still moving? If the latter it is very likely the pedal switch. EZGO uses the microswitch's Normally Closed contacts, which are closed by an itty-bitty spring when the lever drops off the collar on the accelerator plunger in the pedal box. The spring is flexed every time the pedal is pushed and weakens over time and eventually it doesn't work every time. Also, all it takes is a little debris getting inside the switch to gum up the works. Monitor the voltage at the Red push-on connector. Should go to 48V when pedal is pushed. If it doesn't the pedal switch is bad. |

Re: 2008 TXT losing power
Thanks for the help!
Correct sr48500 I am pretty sure it is losing power whenever the pedal is lifted (at a stop or slowing down And trying to resume speed) Hasn’t happened When pedal is already depressed Can the pedal switch be sprayed off with some brake cleaner or should I just replace. |
