Acceleration problems
I have a 2002 club car DS electric. When I push the pedal it will go for a few seconds then stop. If I push the pedal to the floor it stops. I have changed the speed sensor and the solenoid and it it still doing it. Any suggestions on what I could try next to fix this problem?

Re: Acceleration problems
Have you tested what the pedal uses to tell the controller how fast you want to go?

to BGW
Pump the go pedal quickly about 30 times. If the condition improves, it's time for a new MCOR (throttle sensor). |

Re: Acceleration problems
I'm new to carts, too, and I wasn't sure if yours has a V-glide or MCOR setup for providing throttle position input to the controller. Jake indicates MCOR so that's good enough for me. Do a "Search this Forum" to find an MCOR test procedure and look in the Stickys, there is a great thread on the MCOR. Did you try what Jake suggested? The MCOR uses a variable resistance wiper and it can get dirty/corroded. Pushing the pedal 30 times full throw might clean the contact surface enough to make an improvement and if it does improve things the MCOR is probably worn out. Or if the ohms test is flaky it is probably bad. If you replace the MCOR avoid the Made in China MCOR 4 and find the one made by ITW Switches Mexico. They're a bit more expensive, but probably worth it as many people have had issues with the China version. I got a spare on ebay for $67.

Re: Acceleration problems
Thank you. The MCOR is definitely broken on my golf kart. The plastic is broken you can see right in side and it was only held on by one screw because the other one was broke. I have already ordered one on amazon but I am now worried its made in china.
