MPT 1000 upholstery material
Our work cart here has the backrest upholstery totally shot - in the past we’d put lumber in there and it just ruined it.
I’ve seen you can by new replacement backrests - at least for other carts - but I just want to clean up the appearance as it is a work cart. Any suggestions on material to use? Whatever is most cost effective. I’d redo the bench seat as well given I don’t want them to not match. I’m in California - Bay Area. |

Re: MPT 1000 upholstery material
I used to recover seats in Marine vinyl from Joanne's in socal. If you get it too thick it will be very hard to work with. Stuff is cheap enough, resists the CA sun, and wears pretty good. Get yourself a 1/4 crown air or electric stapler and a sharp razor knife to do the job.
Tech tip : If the material is too stiff to work easy put it in the dryer for a bit to soften it up and then work fast |
