Default Rxv troubleshoot / repair needed in dfw

Can you all recommend someone to take my rxv to for diagnostic and repair in the Dallas Fort Worth Texas area?

Long story short like a dummy I shorted the 5vdc circuit last year and finally got a guy that replaced the harness, installed a navitas controller, new batteries(not related to the short, just time to replace) and several sensors but I’m not positive which all sensors.

I had heck getting him to respond and after 3 months he finally got it finished for me. Not confident in him for further repair.

It ran good for 2 days after repairs then started shuddering and stuttering on takeoff. I’ve taken it to metro golf carts in Fort Worth and they replaced the brake but did not fix the issue. They called and said that they aren’t familiar with navitas controllers and can’t do anything else to diagnose.

What year RXV is it and what do you see in the Navitas app diagnostic? Probably a failing em brake...

2010

Has only given one error message and that was last week. Metro just replaced the brake last week and didn’t fix the issue.

The Encoder is mounted on the motor and it tells the controller how to commutate the motor windings. It has probably been damaged by your previous problem and it may need to be replaced. This requires disassembling the motor.

Yes, that sounds like the speed sensor ( could be a bad harness also ). As said, the 2010 model has a bearing encoder inside the motor.

Thank you both! That’s kind of what I’m thinking.

Update… changed the encoder and all problems are fixed. Cart runs great now.
