Default Gasket/Seal for G1 Transaxle Case

Need to put my G1 transaxle back together, but can't find the gasket/seal for the case anywhere online? Does anyone have/sell these?

Thanks!

Many people will use grey silicone gasket maker on engine cases and trans cases. I don't believe it would cause any clearance issues. You just have to make sure you it according to the specifications. I've used it on many engine cases without issue.

I have used that as well. I also like "The Right Stuff", excellent product. I believe the Yamaha stuff is grey, also good, but hard to come by except special order or Yami store.

The best stuff on the market is Toyota’s FIPG (form in place gasket). I’ve always give it about a 60 minute setup time and you can add oil and go. Usually by the time you get all the oil pan bolts torqued and everything reassembled, it’s been long enough to add oil and drive it out of the bay. Never had one come back leaking. The stuff basically turns into rubber and REALLY bonds with whatever you apply it to. It doesn’t just “scrape” off like the permatex and others do. But you have to get it from a dealership and it’s kinda pricey.

Permatex ultra black isn’t as good as FIPG, much longer setup time but works well as long as you let it cure properly before adding oil. Doesn’t dry as “rubbery” either but does set up nicely.

Never tried the right stuff. I’ve seen it but never gave it a go. Ultra black always worked for me so why fix what ain’t broke

as Don stated youll need the gasket as it will cause clearance issues in the G1 differential. Its awesome that Don (plowmans carts) have these gaskets as it was very difficult to find them for a number of years!

I know a lot of ATV engines use the gasket thickness and need that for spacing, don’t use it and the crankshaft will bind. Didn’t realize the G1 was the same way, good info. I’ve never been into a Yamaha rear end, but all the club cars I’ve been into are just glued together, no gasket.

Gold, thanks for all the options, and, Don, for access to the gasket itself! Great to have this all in one place. Thanks!
