Default Yamaha g2 swapped engine with no pulse pump nipple

I swapped out my g2 engine with a different j38 engine. My question is the old engine valve cover has 3 nipples and one is connected to the pulse pump for oil to the valves, but the newer j38 engine only has the back hose, and the hose going to the breather, there is no 3rd nipple on the side of the cover for the pulsar. Is this right?

You’d have to take a picture. I’m thinking the 3rd nipple someone added… all the engines I’ve had only have the oil hose in the back and the breather hose.

Same here the ones I have worked on just have the oil feed line and breather hose line. The fuel pump was pulsed off a fitting in the block.

So from what you guys are telling me the oil hose from the back of the engine and breather hose is right and I will get adequate oil to the valves?

I see that area on the valve cover where that nipple is tapped on the that I still have here and I guess somewhere along the line there was a production change. All that said the nipple for the fuel pump should be on the block on the new engine. OR block the block nipple and use the old valve cover OR tap the new one if the other options are not possible.

That is exactly how the ones I have seen were set up. The one in the back is the feed line supplied by the splash fin on the connecting rod.

Yeah I know where the pulse pump is for fuel pump, but on the 1st pic the pulse pump had a T that ran to both the fuel pump and valve cover, but If the back hose on the valve cover and breather hose is right and its all I need to supply oil to the valves I guess I'm good to go. Thanks for the help
