Gas Cart Engine Principles
I have seen different engines you can put in a gas cart. My son has an 88 ez go with a 2pg engine and we keep blowing the head gasket. What type of engine can we swap into it that would be more reliable and powerful.

That is a 2 stoke so you gotta stay with the 2 stroke or you loose reverse.... a snowmobile 2 stroke works? 440 or such..... OR, change to a modern trans axle and the sky is the limit ......

Re: Gas Cart Engine Principles
Heads gaskets just don't blow. Most failures can be traced back to an over heating problem which warps the head. The first time it happened, did you sone have the head planed? If not, there is your problem. Need to figure out why it over heated as well.

Welcome to the forum!
I tend to agree with seahunter. Have it milled, or whatever, to make it flat again. It shouldn't keep blowing gaskets. That rear end will create a problem. Not many motors incorporate reverse anymore... |
