can you weld the diffs up in g2-g9s?

i wouldnt do it if it sees any pavement, maybe ok for offroad use. may break rear end on the road but dirt has give to it.

Unfortunately the Plowmans unit is for the G16 on up.

Folks have welded the spiders up, some love it and some don't.

Pros are obvious, the con's include increased turning ration and of course the possibility that something lets go after welding and grenades the rear end.

Here's some pics of the spiders welded up in a G9 carrier. I did not weld this, but as I understand it is not for the novice. The parts need to be squeaky clean and should be pre-heated before welding, and you have to know what you are doing welding on these parts.

thats perfect as i am not a novice... lol. actually these replies were perfect, the pics are great and that thread gave me all the info i need basically. really what i wanted to know was whether the components could hold up and it sounds like they will. the thread was mainly clubcar but im assuming the diffs are similar. thanks
