Have to hold choke to run, g14 1996
Hey guys,
I just got a 96 g14 from my father-in-law...it has been sitting a few years. Had to change the solenoid to get it to crank. Now it will run fine as long as I keep the choke pulled out. If I barely push the gas without choke, it will make it about 10feet and die. I can run it all day with the choke pulled. I messed with the air/fuel ratio but it didn't help. Got a clean air filter and all lines look good. Seafoam has always been ran in it, and I added some more when I filled the tank. Any suggestions or common issues? Thanks in advance! |

This just happened to me deer season. My fuel filter was clogged. Took it off and was able to run back to camp just fine.

Sounds like a simple carb cleaning should take care of your issue...
