Default No power going up hills

I have a 99 TXT and the batteries check out fine but when I go up an incline it feels as if it is going to stop. When I am on flat ground or going down hill it moves great, just on inclines does it slow way down. It doesn't completely come to a stop but pretty darn close. Any ideas?

I'm having the same problem. I have the OEM controller but the previous owners of my cart say they had no problem going up hills. My batteries are old but don't want to replace the batteries unless i'm sure that's the problem.

If they are over 5 years old, most likely the batteries are going.

It is normal for the cart to slow uphills. The stock control is limiting how much amperage the motor can access. Bigger 4-500 amp controls allow the motor more amperage to make more torque or power for hills , bigger tires, and extra loads.
