Default 5 batteries at 8.5 one battery at 5......

I have Trojan t875 batteries that I just put in the cart. 5 are at 8.5 (is that good enough to Run the cart well?) one battery with is connected to the positive post will only get up to about 5-6 volts. The cart stutters if you apply the throttle. Any thoughts? thanks!

How long after you took the cart off the charger, did you get them readings

There is probably a dead cell in the battery reading 5-6V. Either a bad intercell weld, or an internal short which slowly discharges that cell. That bad cell will eventually bring down the whole pack. The old addage; 'only as strong as it's weakest link' so appropriately applies to battery packs.
