Default Re: G1 Problems: cranks, but will not run

I got to work on the cart last night (finally!). I got all of the rust off of the primary sheave and I was able to hone/deglaze the cylinder walls.

Everything is ready for reassembly, I am just waiting on parts.

Default Finally she is put back together!!!

Finally, finally, finally....she is running again!!!!

I got my parts a few days ago and I have been putting her back together a little bit at a time (as time has allowed). The most difficult thing was getting the piston (with the new rings back into the cylinder (honing the cylinder went very well by the way). I cannot believe i was so scared of that! I did need to remove the piston to get it into the cylinder. Once it was in there, it slid like butter!

I fired her up today and she smoked like crazy for a couple of minutes. Then everything smoothed out and she was running great. I have not actually rolled her yet, but I expect good results! She was running ~23 MPH before the rebuild. I cannot wait to clock her and see what she is running now!

I am getting new tires this week because my old sneaks were dry rotted and I have the cart on blocks right now. The good news is that I am getting new tires for $35 apiece (installed)! I go to church with a guy who owns a tire store (don't hate me!).

Now the fun mods begin!!!
