Did you lubricate the secondary clutch bushing when you reassembled it? Try to lubricate the ends of the spring as well.

i don't see how it could , your engine only turns one way, and the pullys only turn one way , i think it's just "unwinding"

mabey i'm wrong, someone correct me if i am

It looks correct to me! unless your engine is turning the wrong way.

I looked at your pictures again. It looks like the spring turns it back towards the opposite side of the hub when it's not running. When you turn the engine over it should pull to the rubber snubs which is correct, unless I'm missing something.

Your wear buttons on the ramps are worn away gone, FIX NOW or buy a bunch of parts.
Does the spring have tangs on the end if so you may have pre wraped the wrong way when assembled.

I am just trying to replace my rear clutch (from Plowman's too). Taking a break from trying to get that spring compressed. Dooms.. the spring does not have any tangs, it is flat at both ends. I'll take your advise and replace my shoe ramps while it is apart.
Sorry I can't help you Ray & Lori
