Speakers
I am looking to put a stereo console up in my Yamaha. I see that most are 5" speakers but that really limits the speaker selection. Will 5 1/4" speakers fit? What do you guys suggest. I do not want or need a competition system in my buggy. Just great sound.

Re: Speakers
I'm pretty sure these are 5 1/4's, a careful fit - but there is room.

Re: Speakers
I put it in the right front compartment, secured it with some 'L' brackets. Still room on top of the head unit for CD storage too.

Re: Speakers
I mounted mine in the left compartment, using an "underdash " mount upside down. Then put the speakers behind the seats on top of the rear body. I had a shop mount them to get them even. It was cheap insurance, also, check clearence so the backs of the speakers don't run onto stuff. Where I was originally going to drill was right over a part of the frame. That would have sucked...LOL!
I used boat speakers. 6"/duals. Sound good... Here's the stereo mount (its dark. PM me if you want and I will send you a better picture): And the speakers: Here they are again: Hope this gives you some ideas.... Mike |

Re: Speakers
Behind the seat in the access panel are 2 5-1/4" speakers.

Re: Speakers
Here's what I did; Its a "Shark Audio System" for motorcycles. $100.00. Needs a woofer, $65.00 more! Then I use my MP3/phone.
I have no woofer, but impressed with the sound anyway. Woofer would be great, but don't think it would handle power washing so... |

Re: Speakers
Here is mine. I have 6x9s in the footwell area and 5 1/4s above the rear wheels behind the seat. I mounted the radio in the dash. It is a tight fit, needs the middle two cupholders cut out and really needs to be this exact radio as it is not deep. It is not a cd player, but a mechless that does FM, SD card, USB, and Aux in. A cd player would be to deep. This one is only 4.2 deep. Here is the link
