Cheap 48v conversion
Ive got an 86 Ez-Go Marathon that I am resurecting as a hunting buggy. I only tackled the project because I got if for free from a friend that never used it. He said "just get it running" when I asked how much he wanted fo it.
I got it to running decent, but it is a pig on hills, even at a full charge. I know it needs new batteries, but while im replacing them, Im concidering adding 2 more batteries. But, I have done some searching, and from what I can tell, a 36-48v conversion can get pretty pricey. Since my cart is old, and is primarily going to be a "make-do" project until I can afford a something better. Thats why I want to know if its possible to do a 48v conversion without upgrading all kinds of parts. My cart is an 86 with the old style resistor coils (which I have already replaced with an upgraded coil setup). Is it even possible to run a 48v conversion on a cart that old? |
