The earlier Excel controllers were hardwired to only run with Excel braking "ON" Every 09 I've seen had the updated software that would allow you to turn it off. That's the only thing I can figure is the fact that it's got the old software and won't show the menu option.

The cart he plugged into while we were on the phone was an 09 PHxxxxx so he said. I thought I read somewhere that the excel was introduced in 09? Oh well Guess I'll have to take mine to him to see if it has that option. This can't happen till saturday morning. I'll let you know what I find.

Yep you are right. I researched some more today and found that out. Sorry. Can the speed setting be turned From 3 to 4 with a handheld? Where i bought it was told it was on 3. Thanks. Wayne
