I totaly recomend you go with the concierge spring, even in a stock wheeled cart!

It allows the car to leave the line strong and up shift as it goes!

What part are you talking about when you say:A spacer to replace input shaft? Who do you recommend I buy these parts from? I ordered my tires and lift kit from Buggies Unlimited in FLA.

Hot Rod, we prefer, the members here, use the site sponsors. They contribute to supporting this site! B.U. is not a sponsor. People on here have been known to be unhappy with some B.U. parts.

The secondary clutch is going to need to be beefed up with the taller tires. Since you need a sheave, spring and spacer. That comes as a kit, and I would reccomend Plowmans. I used a umax/concerige spring in mine. It is a stiffer spring for heavy duty service, (10 bucks) from yamaha. But call Plowmans, talk to them. They really know their stuff! This picture showes the spacer, spring seat, then my concierge spring and then the sheave. The spacer replaces the circlip. And if you get a new sheave, I would also get new ramp shoes (so the new sheave has a new surface to face up with!!

Personally, I have been very satisfied with my set up, but Plowmans know their stuff! May be better than mine!

Also, very smart to use only "genuine Yamaha" parts. Unless its Plowmans, (but he uses them for the most part.)

Also, Smallblock is the guru on this site for Yamaha's!! He has forgotten more than I will ever know, (cause he's old )!! But follow his lead! "He's the MAN!!" Its been known to be good advice to follow to the letter, everything he suggests you do!!

Thanks Mike, I think Yes I'm old, But I still have a few tricks up my sleeve. Plowmans and CPP are excellant site sponsors for Yamaha parts/upgrades.

I ordered a muffler and spring along with new jets from Plowmans, should be here tomorrow. He is SUPER helpful on the phone. I hope the performance kit is as described.

To : Mike Mac and Smallblock450sl,
The new spring, sheaves and belt does make a difference. Soon as I got everything back together I was back riding. You can tell the change with Plowmans Clutch Kit.
