I just did this to my cart, at most I would say the mod took me a couple hours.
I would do it again, easy to cut the battery bucket if you use a rotozip, that was the only tool I used. New bats for me was $900 for Trojan 875's.

If you paid a shop to do the conversion with the kit I think the kit is about $400 plus whatever shop charges. Or you could do it yourself but it is much more involved. Like they said read the thread in the stickies, http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/elect...-part-1-a.html

Ehh.... I think I'll just sell it & put the $$ towards a gasser. I WISH this was a gasser but I really don't want to go modifying anything. 3-4 years & $1000.00 bucks is just unacceptable to me.

$650-$700 for 12v batteries. It would be $1,000 if you went the 8v conversion with the battery bucket kit or you can save the money and do the DIY conversion yourself and only in cure the cost of the 8v batteries.

Are you sure about that figure for the 12V batteries? I've priced them around here (New England $$$$) at around 259.00 each. If you have any suggestions, I'm all ears..thanks again!

Erict I just do not think you could do it that cheap. I priced out the conversion kit and it is like $400. Maybe just the bucket for a 100 or so but it involves relocating all the electrical so it is a lot more in the end. Anyway a good set of batteries even if US bats is still gunna be at least $800.

Battery prices very and I paid $160 each for my 12v US batteries. I had also priced doing the conversion on mine and with the 8v batteries and kit it was around $1,100. If he does the DIY conversion like mentioned, it will be just the cost of 8v batteries which is cheaper then buying the conversion kit. He mentioned 3-4 years and a $1,000 which is incorrect if he installed 8v batteries. 3-4 years would be for the 12v batteries and the cost, at least around me, is $650-$700.
