Cables to motor wired backwards?
I am installing cable kit #2 that I bought from carts unlimited.
I have found that the cables that run from the motor are reversed as compared with the instructions with the kit. Can you please advise ASAP? I've e-mailed Scotty, but thought I'd post here also to get fastest response. My cart wiring-----------------------> Kit instructions Motor A1 to M- on controller ---------->Motor A1 to FNR terminal 4 (top) Motor A2 to FNR terminal 4 (top)------>Motor A2 to M- on controller Motor S1 to FNR terminal 8 (right)----->Motor S1 to FNR terminal 5 (left) Motor S2 to FNR terminal 5 (left)------>Motor S2 to FNR terminal 8 (right) Thanks in advance, Kyle |

Re: Cables to motor wired backwards?
What cart do you have,? i guess the one in your sig, ?
there is more than one way to wire a series cart, if that is what you have, in your Signature, is that what you are running in your cart? if it is, did you get all that stuff from ScottyB?, if you did get it all from ScottyB then wire it the way it says on the diagram that ScottyB sent you, |

Re: Cables to motor wired backwards?
They will work either way....I ask Scotty the very same question. He told me that the diagram he supplied me was the latest as far as my cart/controller was concerned. once everything was wired, and even took it for spin. There was thing that was funny, the F/R switch worked backwards. Scotty told me to switch the cables AT THE MOTOR for S1 and S2....and then the switch would work as directed.....and it did.....been running my carts A$$ OFF ever since.

Re: Cables to motor wired backwards?
Okay got it all wired up per Scotty's instructions and it works great!!
Here's something I found interesting, pack voltage before new cables was 38.2, and after it was 38.8. I ran the heck out of it afterward, probably went 4 miles, up hills, etc and after all that the pack voltage was still at 37.6 I waited about 20 minutes before reading). How far can you guys typically go on a charge? |

Re: Cables to motor wired backwards?
As you found out, you can reverse A1, A2 AND S1, S2 and the motor will run the same direction. Reverse only one (wither A or S) and it will run backwards.
