Unknown spring
Anyone have an idea as to what this spring is for or better yet where does it go? Found it under my 1994 G9 on the garage floor!
Thanks JP |

Re: Unknown spring
Forgot to add it's about 4 1/2" long - diameter approx. 7/16"
I've gone through the Yamaha parts website and they show 52 springs, I'm going a little cross eyed. Thanks JP |

Re: Unknown spring
Could be a brake switch spring if you have brake lites. Looks more like a G1 exhaust valve linkage spring. Maybe someone added it for a throttle return spring rather than fixing the real problem.

Re: Unknown spring
I'll have to go look again at the governor but, I don't have lights. In the meantime I've been tightening hose clamps etc. and managed to dislodge the short hose coming out of the T from the fuel pump and attaches to the nipple on the bottom of the crankcase. Do I have to tear everything down to get that hose back on the nipple or is there a simpler way. You can't actually see the nipple and there's barely enough room to get your fingers in there and maneuver around please tell me there's an easier way!!!

Re: Unknown spring
FLIPPZ - I looked at the diagram for the governor & it doesn't show a spring like this one. The governor is working fine.

RIB
I've been asking myself the same question. The previous owner may have laid it someplace on the cart hoping it would fall off and confuse the hell out of me! It was a long price negotiation and I'm sure I may have made some less than complimentary comments concerning how he could ask such a ridiculous price for a pile of junk that belonged in a Japanese scrap yard. |
