I plan on wiring this like a boost. It will bypass the controller.

I am actually making a diagram right now of a low/high (stock/boost)switch that will be activated by full peddal with a on/off feature switch.

The original electric vehicles (1836) actually used this way to operate them. Of course back then it was probably nothing more than a simple knife switch. But I do love the idea of running the full pack across the motor to get it to max out. Just not wanting to be picking metal out of my butt when it blows apart.

But for a simple 60 or 72 volt upgrade to a 48 volt motor would be okay Roady?

I wouldn't bypass the controller. No Current limit, no safety features! Yes it might work but if you ever do it from a standstill, you will draw way too much current!

What I am working on and planning to do it keep the cart 48 volts. I am going to put a mag switch on the pedal and have a keyed off switch before the mag as well. When the key is on the mag will activate. pressing the pedal as normal will still use the controller. Once up to speed pressing the pedal all the way will activate the mag switch which will introduce the additional 12 or 24 volts into the system boosting the motor voltage to 60 or 72. Once the pedal is released a little the mag will disengage putting just the 48 back to the motor via the controller again..... This way with the keyed switch off the cart will only see the norm 48v so it is kid (6& safe.
