G9 engine parts break down needed
Hi all, I just purchased a g9 cart with a messed up engine. Looking down at it facing rear of cart there is a major hole in casting at top near clutch pulley. I need to see what it is that may have let go. The engine cranks, has compression and wondering if there is timing gears there or balance shaft. Thinking maybe by seeing a parts break down i might see a way to weld up case and replace the bad parts. If not just will have to get another engine. Anyone know of a complete parts break down to look at on line? Ive searched but cant find what im looking for . thanks all

Go to www.yamahagolfcar.com Click on service/thenview parts manuals/golf car/1991 and you can look at the complete parts manual. Shure would like to see a picture of the hole, never seen that happen to a Yamaha. Good luck

Re: G9 engine parts break down needed
They used to show a diagram on tnt golf cart's site under yamaha parts. I would put a clone engine in it unless you are moving it and just want to replace, as it takes time to plumb everything. They do have a balance shaft and the bearing is the side cover, they do wear out and knock but never seen one break in a G2/9.

Re: G9 engine parts break down needed
Yes, the dealer here wanted 700 for a trade last I knew, if you brought the bare engine in. That is why everyone is buying clones for 300 with more power.

Re: G9 engine parts break down needed
OUCH!! Definitely balance shaft (that little spring laying outside used to be part of balance shaft). Please tell me you are not driving that poor thing...

Check out Vegascarts.com
i believe their clone should be a bit over $400 much better investment than going for an electric cart.... |
