Default Early 80's G1 choke issue

First time here so please excuse me if this is a common problem. My cart constantly needs to be choked, once I pull choke out I'm good and I can push it back in and continue on. Each time I stop I have to do this. Carb has been cleaned. Next step. Thanks in advance for help.

G1 needs choke? First thing i think of is "needs crank seals". Is it a fresh build, or an older motor? Be careful, "needs crank seals" will turn into "needs rebuilt". 2 stroke engines hate running lean (extra air leaking in equals Too Lean fuel mixture) we're not talking about oil ratio here. Whats the compression tester say right now. That will help determine if its too late already.

This is a old motor, compression is 120. The unit is a little rough but I was hoping to run in for the summer at campsite and build something over the winter. Thanks for the help.

I would say the crank seals are toast, and the compression is already low. You could do the crank seals now and use it for the season, but its only a "band-aid" at this point. Compression should be in the 150 range.
