For voltage during discharge it's only true, if all batteries start with similar capacities. If any one of the batteries or cells stops supplying current (as in dead) before the others, the rest of the batteries/cells will push current through that dead battery/cell backwards. As Yurtle said, doesn't matter where in the series string it is located, it will happen. Normally we don't discharge our batteries anywhere near where there is a danger of this happening. The lawyers who hogged so much space on warnings, Trojan had to put "Made in USA" in small type and sideways. I placed a red rectangle around it.

"High Voltage Risk of Shock", "Danger/Poison", etc.

Lol this took off running... I didn't have a chance to get over there today... Hopefully this weekend I will be able to swap it out and get the cart running again
