Default Ds electric motor has unidentifiable gunk on actuator

I’ve got a 2001 36v motor apart for cleaning. The actuator has two chunks of what looks like melted putty that dried. Can this be safely chipped off or is this something “normal” I can ignore? Thx in advance

It is the Armature and it's probably just balancing epoxy never seen it in that one spot though

It’s epoxy for balancing. Leave it alone.

Agree ! Seen it before. Looks like somebody found a convenient place to park his bubblegum for a minute and forgot about it, but it's there for a purpose. Don't try to remove it.

Yup. Perfectly normal. Every motor will have some sort of balancing material like that.
