Default shift cable

I have a txt 2003 gas ez go.
I have ran into a problem finding the right shift cable. The one that came off the cart is 66 1/2 inch long and straight.
The one that everyone wants to ship me has a metal 90 on it.
If this is the right one, can someone please tell me how to install it.
There is not enough adjustment on the threads

Thanks all
Sonny

I will try and help. My cart is a 2005 TXT, and that curve (90) cable is the correct one. My engine is not stock, but the shift cable and connection is.
Here are some photos of mine. The straight end hooks to the shift knob control and the 90 end comes around the left side, around battery, over exhaust and down to bracket attached to tranny and gear lever. Just realized that first pic is upside down....sorry. Let me know if you needs more specifics.

Those straight cables are for a shuttle model. Are you sure yours is a TXT?

Thanks all for the replys.
To start, It's a 2003 TXT regular golf cart.
The cable that came off of it is straight.
I must be missing something, because everything points to this being the right cable. I'm going to look a littler closer and see what I'm missing.
Thanks again for the Help.
If I make it work I'll yet everyone know.

Sonny, I'm having the same problem. my cable comes into the rearend horizontally. the pictures that were posted shows it going in vertically. still looking for an answer from local dealer who sold me the cable, but doesn't know how to install it.

i know this post is old but i am having an issue now with my cable not working properly. i had a straight cable now my new cable is the 90 degree bend and its works out better with the big block header in the way.

i cant seem to get all 3 gears in one smooth motion, forward, neutral & reverse.... forward and neutral are easy but cant get reverse in there without messing it all up.... i think possibly my fork inside the transaxle is going bad or just took a crap on me ?

anyone ?
