Cool I have wiring and charging questions for my restoration project...

I have ordered a new F&R, and a new speed board assembly with solenoid. I will also be getting new batteries.

What kind of wiring should I use for the cart? A parts supplier told me 6ga jacketed is fine for a stock cart.

Also, how do you hook-up a stereo? Do you connect it to two 6v batteries? Or do you use a voltage regulator so all batteries are drained equally?

P.S. Is $200 a good price for a used 36V - 25amp battery charger? I have attached a pic of it...

Moto, 200 is fair for the lester charger (the best name in chargers). 25 amps is a strong one. Howev.......since you are starting from scratch, why not convert to 48v since you need everything? You keep the same motor only juice it with 48v. Read around. It is a 33% increase in power. And in your case, since you need everything it is a no brainer, will cost an extra $150.
You buy 8v instead of 6 for like $15 more each!
And a 48v solenoid $50.
Use 4g wires either way!

ps: Use a voltage reducer for 12v accessories to avoid an unbalanced drain on your batteries. So either 36 or 48v to 12 and watch the amperage rating , the cheap ones are 10 amps 20 is better....

I allready ordered the 36V solenoid... I don't have enough money for the conversion, as soon as I finish this cart, I must sell it... for maybe $100 more than I put into it if I'm lucky... Plus, the poor old motor is from the late seventies...

4ga wire sounds good, so does the voltage reducer!!! where would I get a voltage reducer?

ebay. or our site sponsors! Don't let the age of the motor scare you... They were built better than todays tin cans! LOL. Watch craigslist- I found an old 36v charger for $75 last week....If $ is real tight go with 6g wire. It will run fine....No lights, no stereo. I sure would want power before tunes and paint....Good luck though!
