2001 gas EZGO won't stop

01 gas EZGO. Sometimes it won't quit running until you stomp the gas a few times. Any idea what it could be?

is it actually *running* when You let off the pedal or is it just turning over? Either way, the first thing I'd check is the microswitch in the pedal box, if the cart is doing *anything* when You release the pedal, chances are it's sticking. You'll have to take out the 2 screws on each side that hold the silver inserts on the rockers, remove those silver pieces, then under the floormat You'll find a box right in front of the pedal. OPen it up (4 screws) to access the switch.

You can manually click the switch to see if it's a crisp, solid "click" - I'm guessing You'll find dirt, dust, etc in there which is interfering with the movement of the switch though. With the ignition off, depress the pedal with your hand and you'll hear the switch click once the pedal stats to move, then it will click again when You release the pedal. If after cleaning everthing up it isn't clicking on and off as it should w the pedal, best to pop the $8 and replace it
