Default 2015 ezgo carb backfire???

What would cause the carb to back fire when you start it up when it's cold, it will eventually start and run fine, but at first it spits and sputters and backfires? Cleaned the carb several times and replaced all gaskets.

Back fire through the carb is the valve not completely closing before the plug fires. Back fire out the exhaust is raw fuel not getting burned and then getting ignited. I see you are in Detroit so I assume its cold there. You could try running a little bit hotter plug and see if that helps..

He said when it warms up it runs ok, if valve is tight would get worse warm. Lean mixture will male it backfire

Pretty sure these motors have hydraulic lifters so if it is really cold, that lifter may misbehave

Trust me, it is highly unlikely to be valve adjustment.

I'm in Texas so it's far from cold, went for a drive today and it completely choked and won't run, Guna take it apart tomorrow and check the carb again and I'll probly check the valves too

I have always related a back fire with timing.

Please explain way a lean condition would create a back fire? If the intake valve was not opened at the wrong time?

Always open to learn!
