Post Rivets

Hey guys, does everyone use the rivets to put the body back together on a TXT? I seen somewhere that someone had used push/pull plastic rivets, I was wondering if that will hold up on the body to frame attachment?

Post Re: Rivets

Has anyone tried using small bolts to hold everything together? I don't know if you can get to all the areas to use bolts. I don't have a pop rivet gun anymore so I'm looking at other options.

The cart was designed for rivets. There is not sufficient access for nuts and bolts in some areas.
Once you are setup with a good rivet gun and the right rivets it's a real breeze

Rivet gun is a handy tool. Cleeko clamps help a lot, too. I see you are in kansas. I recommend a trip to wichita, to the yard. A wonderland of aircraft surplus tools and materials. Adult toy store!!

If you are going to buy a rivet gun,buy a good one.Don't buy a walmart type as it will just frustrate you,and it will not do the job properly.

35 years ago I bought a Marson gun w/kit.I still have it and it still works great.

You will be surprised how often you will use once you have it.

I'll have to check it out, one thing I worry about from Harbor Freight is the quality. I have bought thousands of dollars worth of tools and equipment from them and never had any problem, but I've also had people tell me they have never gotten anything that's good. I know I should act based on my own experience not what someone else says. it's just always in the back of my mind, heck I have bought 3 small engines from them including a 670 that will go in my cart.

I've bought a souix air drill with a jacobs chuck, a rockwell angle drill, spot facers, drill bushings, reamers, coffee cans of cleekos, aluminum bar stock, all kinds of stuff there. Its all high quality surplus from boeing/beech/cesna etc. Trust me, youll dig it. Bring your wallet.
