Will start and then 5 min later will not
I just got a 2002 txt gas golf cart. Ran fine for 2 days, then found out I had a stripped hub. I replaced the hub. Ran good. I drove the cart to my neighbors, which is 30 yards away, and drove him around his house. Went to go back to my house, the cart tries to start but would not. Tried a couple times then it started. Drove it home and it would do it every so often. Please help.

I was thinking that with a stripped hub, it probably sat around for a while.
Clean the old gas out of everything, run some Seafoam through it, and adjust the valve clearance to .004". I think there is a thread up in the stickies on how to do that. |

When you say tries to start, does it turn over or just click?

it turns over. New gas and valves adjusted, still sometimes it will start sometimes not. Is there a switch or something in the fnr lever. It seems to start in neutral or reverse, but forward not.

check the spark plug make sure its not black if cleaning the spark plug does not work you may have to take the carberator off and clean it I have to do that several times a week
to the ones that I service |

also look at the throttle linkage to make sure that when you press the petal all the way to the floor that it moves the rod connected to the carb.

Engine spins in the same direction in forward or reverse so not that. When it is in reverse a micro is engaged to make the reverse buzzer sound but that is it. Try pulling the main drive belt and see if it starts in forward. If so your belt might be too tight keeping the engine from spinning fast enough to catch..
