Default G16 Rebuild help needed

Have a G16 that my son rides regularly. I failed to check the cool air intake and it was clogged with grass/debris.. Long story short, I believe the cart ran hot and is now smoking a good bit.

Has anyone done or willing to do a write up on a basic rebuild?

I am hoping I can get away with maybe just honing the cylinder and installing a new set of rings. It is running just fine, only smoking now.

Thanks in advance. I have never done a rebuild on one of these but want to give it a try.

That's basically what I did on my G9. It was smoking like a train, but still had 165+ psi compression. Rings, rod bearings, gaskets and go. I checked everything while I was in there to make sure the cylinder was still round, the crank was in spec, etc.. but I didnt have any issues afterwards and it quit smoking:)

Just bear in mind the G 16 has no rod bearings. Cast aluminum rod. If the play is too great the rod needs to replaced.

Where can I find the info on bore size, crank spec, torque values, etc?
