Post Oil in air cleaner g9

Hello everyone. I am looking at a 1992 g9 Yamaha gas golf cart (my first one).
The cart seems to be running good but I noticed oil in the bottom of the air cleaner assembly. The hose that comes from the valve cover area when unplugged and driving the cart will have a lot of smoke and then oil will drip from it. Any ideas what is wrong with this unit?
Thanks for the Help

If memory serves, g9 is 4 stroke so that is the breather hose and smoking from there would be crankcase blowby

It will do this when it is overfilled with oil.

Drain all the oil (There is no oil filter) and fill with EXACTLY 1 quart of oil. Any more than 1 quart and it causes problems.

The dip stick may be marked wrong. After filling with 1 quart check and scratch a new line.

When full of oil my G9 is about at the halfway mark on the dipstick. Maybe a little more. Like said don't overfill. Not that I have any experience with that. Is there any puff at startup? How does the plug look? Oil ring a common failure. Pretty simple repair if you don't have to go oversized. Less than $100 in parts.
