Default G16 side cover removal ?

Have started disassembling my G16 engine. It ran well but smokes. Going to re-ring.

Having a little trouble getting the side cover off and don't want to damage it. I have it loose from the engine (can get about 1/4" gap) but it does not seem to want to come off past the seal/crank snout.

Just don't want to be too rough on it and damage it. Any tricks/pointers?

Thanks!

It should pop off without much effort. Maybe tap lightly.

Got this stuff if you need it.

It came loose fairly easily from the block and the crank spins freely. However when I try to remove it the crank moves laterally with it until the flywheel/fan is against the engine. It won't go any further. Almost like the seal is holding the cover from sliding off the crank snout.

The side cover is likely sticking to the bearing. Apply a little heat to the side cover, shouldn't take a bunch. If you didn't plan on a new seal, you should change that plan.
