EZGO Carb
Where can you buy a decent carb for a 2-stroke. I wasted 23 dollars on a piece of junk and I don't want to do it again.

Re: EZGO Carb
What You bought was 99.995% likely just fine, it *did* however need a full teardown and thorough cleaning prior to installation. The China/Taiwan carbs for ultra-low $$$ aren't any worse than the factory replacements - they just generally arrive at your door full of manufacturing residue and do a good job of mimicking a bad carb until You tear them down, clean and blow the jets, passages, set the float, etc.
That said, a lot of people don't want to (or know how to do correctly) that same procedure on their OLD carb, which again, 9 times out of 10 is just fine other than needing a thorough and correct cleaning. Buying a NOS carb at 5X the cost isn't always a sure-fire "bolt-on" either, I've seen many that were full of funk and needed a full teardown to start working like they should. Do some searching and get a diagram for your carb, completely disassemble it and make sure to soak/blow clean all the jets, blast $2 worth of carb cleaner through the passages, etc, set the float, and give it another shot - I'd almost be willing to bet You a new carb that You'll be fine (unless te carb really wasn't the problem, THAT factors in at about a 25-40% shot too, LOL) |

Re: EZGO Carb
Thanks for the reply. I do agree that most times a rebuild is all that is needed. I didn't think to tear down and clean the new carb, I should have. I never did get the needle valve to seal so I put the old seat and valve in the new carb and it looked like I was good to go but, it was only temporary. I have been unable to find a place for parts or I would be rebuilding the new one. I guess I have to start over. lol
