That hose is supposed to drain any excess fuel safely overboard, but for some reason they are drilling the brass fitting on the side, and not the end. The hose blocks the hole.
In normal operation that hole is a vent. Air has to escape the bowl as fuel comes in. It also allows air in as the fuel leaves. The float strikes a balance between fuel coming in, and fuel being used. As you bounce around, some gas is going to splash out of the vent. The hose is there to direct it away from the hot engine. It is not an overflow. Overflowing is an abnormal occurrence. Carburetors are not designed with abnormal occurrences in mind. |

never mind jumped off bridge and burnt cart just kidding threwb in the towel and took it to repair shop
