Charger for Allied drop ins
Has anyone that has used the Allied drop ins had success using the lithium charger that is available or is the original Clubcar charger the only one working?

What charger are you using on your club car. The ERIC or an older model of charger. If it’s the ERIC, what charge profile are you using on it? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

Re: Charer for Allied drop ins
The only reason I asked is my batteries are about 5 to 6 years old. That means I need new batteries shortly. I was thinking of going with the Allied drop ins for a fast way to go lithium. Rather then deal with making my own pack up with a Leaf or another brand of lithium cells. I also have the ERIC charger but have mine set for Profile 3 which is for the Trojan T-875 batteries I have now. My ERIC charger was set up originally with Profile 31 which caused the batteries to over boil and use a lot of water.

Re: Charer for Allied drop ins
When I spoke to Vince at Ace he said that any charger would work and the BMS actually controls the charger profile. It sounds too good to be true He also said they recommend using the OEM charger over theirs. That really made me suspicious.

Allied Batteries
The only thing that scares me are these are new batteries, meaning they have no track record. Plus the Company that manufactures the batteries does not put a lot of information out about the construction of the batteries. They look good from what I have read about them, but who really knows. From what I have read on this forum the charger for lithium batteries should be set up for AGM profile rather then wet lead acid batteries. Maybe Sergio can step in and give his input on what he thinks. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

Re: Charer for Allied drop ins
That's interesting about the OEM charger vs theirs. I thought their charger would charge faster?

For club car they were having problems with theirs. A poster who bought both batteries and their charger had issues and had gone back to his OEM charger. Never heard back on how he worked it out with allied. |
