Default 2015 EFI Drive Transaxle

Anyone had an EFI trans break something?

This one has no drive whatsover and no noises from the trans in F, N or R. It's just a box full of neutrals.

Cheers,
Rob

Intermediate shaft that holds the forward and reverse gears.
Part #J0G-G633G-00-00

The new shaft has been redesigned to be stronger at the break point.

Thanks for that,

I'll probably go and pull the trans tomorrow and report back. Appreciate the part number too.

I went looking for a photo of the old part in one piece, you can see why they break.

Cheers,
Rob

As predicted by rstacy (thanks again), intermediate shaft failure.

It also looks like the shaft was floating and hitting the crownwheel, possibly after breaking and during the tow back to the clubhouse. That's a lot of swarf on the drain plug.

To add to their pain, the sliding (inner) sheave on the secondary clutch is worn through.

Hope the photos help someone else in the future.

Cheers,
Rob

Is this shaft readily available in the US?

Yamaha Australia is nil stock.
Yamaha Japan is nil stock, 3 month wait.
Partzilla says 22 days.

Cheers,
Rob

EDIT Never mind, Partzilla now says 2 in stock so I'm sorted. Couldn't delete the post sorry.

The struggle is real. I had an O.E. Yamaha part that was ordered back in July, finally arrived last Tuesday (12/7).
