Default 93 CC Seat Question

I have a 93 Gas Club Car, and I am looking into putting new seats on it. My question is can I put the 2001-up style seat and seat back on my cart? The only real diff I see is the hip rail setup and the one piece back looks like it mounts a little different. If this has been covered before, I apologize. I searched and found nothing. Any info from someone who has done this would be great. Pics would help too.

Thanks
Brad

the bottom is easy it just sits there. although be advised that if you are wide in the hips as i am(read fat!) the newer seats are about 2 inches narrower than the older ones.

from what i have read you need to change the whole bracket that holds the seat back or be able to do some fab work. never tried this one myself though. but I can't remember seeing pictures of a one pc back on the aluminum colored frames...?

4vertical,
Thanks for the reply. When you say 2 inches narrower, are you talking side to side or front to back? As far as the back goes, I have access to plenty of aluminum and a high frequency tig rig. I will probably put a rear seat kit on the cart anyways so I can just fab something for the seat back at the same time.

The new style seat bottoms are narrower side to side because the plastic hip restraints eat up some of the cushion width.. You'll need the new style backrest brackets to upgrade to the one-piece backrest.. These can be picked up cheap at most cart shops, as they are pulled off to fit a rear seat.. I picked up a complete used backrest and brackets for $50 at a local cart shop, they had a pile of them out back that were pulled off of carts to install rear seat kits..

Here's a couple of pics of my 1996 DS with the old style bottom cushion and the new style backrest..
