search the thread "Common Problems with 88 EZGO" here in the EZGO Gas forum - I just posted the HEI procedure with part info, pics, diagram, etc
The HEI conversion basically eliminates the ignitor and replaces it with a late-70's GM HEI ignition - you've already got a compatible coil so you'd be looking at $20-ish to do the swap and from experience, I can tell you it DOES make a difference in the quality of your spark (and to a limited extent, power, running consistancy, etc) |

Good deal, Bob - just (as I mentioned in the other thread) be SURE to mount the HEI to solid bare metal for heatsinking and ground purposes, and also if you do the conversion and run with no power, just swap the pulsar leads around (the red and blue wires).
