Default 2000 Club Car Gas No spark!

Would run for 4 or 5 golf holes, then quit. Sit for 15 or 20 minutes and would start again. I have replaced the coil, both micro switches in the black box, tested kill switch wire, rebuilt starter. Has a good battery. It will turn over ok but will not start now. If I put a battery charger on it with the 200 amp. It will start up. Other wise it will not have any spark. Also cut the brown wire on limit switch, no help.

Hey Slick,

You may want to post this in the Club Car forum. You'll likely get more responses.

However, even as a non-CC guy, I think your problem sounds like the battery is not charging correctly.

The "sits 15-20 minutes and would start again" sounds like a battery being run down, as it needs a 15-20 minute recovery period to produce enough charge to start you up. Once running, your starter/alternator must be putting out enough juice to keep you running, but not enough to recharge the battery.

Not familiar with the guts of your cart, so will give generic advice -
- Check voltage at the battery with the cart running
- Check voltage output from the starter/gen
- Check outputs at ant stage that may be between the starter/gen and the battery

Hopefully that will turn up the culprit.
